KELOWNA, B.C. - The UBC Okanagan teams hit the courts this weekend with volleyball hosting the Calgary Dinos and the basketball continuing their road trip in Saskatoon against the Saskatchewan Huskies.

Women's Volleyball
January 12th vs Calgary Dinos - 5 PM - UBCO Gymnasium
January 13th vs Calgary Dinos - 4 PM - UBCO Gymnasium
Playoff implications are top of mind this weekend for the Heat women (5-9) as they host the Dinos (6-8). Calgary holds down the eighth and final playoff position in the Canada West standings with UBCO breathing down their neck in ninth position. The Heat hold an 11-10 all-time record against the Dinos which includes being winners of five of eight all-time matchups at home. Rookie hitter
Korey Jenkins comes into the matchup with the hot hand for UBCO averaging seven kills and four digs last weekend. Jenkins recorded a career-high 10 kills in last Friday's five setter against U SPORTS No. 2-ranked UBC.

The Heat (1-13) play host as the Dinos (5-9) come to town this weekend. UBCO's Adam Einerson and
Stephen Searcy got big minutes last weekend against the Thunderbirds as both set career-highs in kills. UBCO is 3-5 all-time against the Dinos all-time at home with the teams splitting their last four matchups. The Heat men have faced a difficult schedule this season with six of their seven opponents being ranked inside the country's top-10 teams.

The Heat women (5-5) face a tough opponent this weekend in the undefeated U SPORTS No. 2-ranked Huskies (10-0). The hosting Saskatchewan squad has won 25 of their last 26 Canada West regular season games. UBCO is winless in four contests against the Huskies on the road, with the schools last facing off in Saskatoon in February of 2020. The Heat's leading scorer,
Jaeli Ibbetson, comes into the matchup ranked third in the conference in points per game with 17.3 and first in rebounds with 12.1.
