The UBCO Heat women’s soccer team earned their first point of the season after a hard-fought draw with the UFV Cascades on Saturday, and Julia Hannan was a big reason why. Hannan, a second-year defender, made her fourth consecutive start and played the full 90 minutes, contributing to the attack by helping drive the team's transition play while providing a steady presence along the back line. During the Heat’s game against the No. 1 UBC Thunderbirds on Friday, Hannan consistently competed in one-on-one battles against UBC's top attacking players and helped deny multiple scoring opportunities.
