Facing two strong opponents on opening weekend, goalkeeper Allyson Ford was a bright spot for the women’s soccer team. The native of Thunder Bay, Ont., turned aside 17 shots over the weekend, including a career-high 12 against the No. 1 ranked UBC Thunderbirds on Friday. She followed up that performance with a five-save effort against the Thompson Rivers Wolfpack two days later.
