Women’s volleyball Amaya Perry takes home Athlete of the Week honours powered by Meal Prep for You, for the week ending on February 9th.

Perry made sure her final home games in a Heat uniform were memorable as she set 3 school records as the Heat swept the Cougars to vault themselves back into a playoff spot. On Friday night, with a 12-kill, including 9 in the first set, and 14.5 point performance, Perry became the Heat's all-time leader in both career kills and points. She followed that up with an incredible serving effort on Saturday, firing 6 aces to take over the school record for aces, moving into 2nd all-time in Canada West history in the process. She now has 899 kills and 1133.5 career points, while her 166 kills is 9 behind the conference record of 175 held by Alberta's Kacey Otto, a record she'll attempt to catch during her team's final two regular season games this weekend.

This is the second time this season and fourth in her career that Perry has been named Athlete of the Week.
