Men’s Basketball Jalen Shirley takes home Athlete of the Week honours powered by Meal Prep for You, for the week ending on November 3rd.

Shirley was a workhorse for a short-handed Heat squad to kick off the Canada West regular season. With just 7 healthy regular rotation players, Shirley carried the load and helped UBCO start the season 1-1. He played 77 of the team's 80 minutes, with travel in between, as he averaged 21.5 points, 8.0 rebounds and 7.0 assists over the Heat's two games while shooting 50% from the field and 67% from three-point range. His best performance came in the Heat's home opener where he nearly recorded a triple-double with 22 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists as UBCO won by 20 over the Timberwolves.

This is the first time this season and fifth in his career that Shirley has been named Athlete of the Week.
