This week for the Heat: This week marks the third week of regular season games for the Heat women's soccer team. For the second weekend in a row the Heat will be playing on their home turf as they will take on the University of Fraser Valley Saturday (Sept. 24) with a start time of 1 p.m. PT at the Nonis Sports Field. Followed by a second match on Sunday (Sept. 18) with a start time of 1 p.m. PT against against the highly ranked Trinity Western Spartans.
Current Form: The women kick started their second weekend of regular season games with a win on their home opener against UNBC. The second match is where the Heat struggled offensively as they finished the match with a loss to the University of Alberta Pandas. With the win and the loss the Heat hold a record of (2-2) and are sixth in the Canada West standings. This week the Heat will be looking to adjust their offense as they will defend their home turf for a second weekend in a row against Fraser Valley and Trinity Western.
Key Players: Third year Courtney Hemmerling is helping build an offensive edge for the Heat. As a forward Hemmerling has scored three goals so far this season, two of which were in Saturday's win against UNBC. Rookie Maya Bandy is also providing in the offensive end as she finished the weekend off with her second Canada West goal in just three games.
Team Stat: With the second weekend of regular season finished the Heat are effectively shooting the ball. With a percentage of .189 the Heat are thirteenth in that category and have scored seven goals so far this season.

Cascades: On Saturday the Heat will play UFV, the Cascades, third in the West Division are coming off of a tie against UBC (2-2) and a win against UVic (3-0). With the split, UFV will be looking to keep their focus on wins as they head to the Okanagan to play the Heat on Saturday (Sept. 24) on Nonis Sports Field at 1 p.m. PT.
Key Players: Second year, Gurneet Dhaliwal has made her mark on the field. With three goals so far this season, the Surrey product is making a huge impact on offense for the Cascades. Fourth year, Amanda Carruthers is also taking leadership on offense as she has already made three goals in the past five games. Tristan Corneil (Left back / 5th / Surrey, B.C.) Corneil was a Canada West first team all-star in 2015, reflecting her status as one of the top defenders in the conference. She's a leader on the pitch for the Cascades – excellent at distributing the ball from the back and very responsible defensively.
Team Stat: With 11 goals scored this season, the Cascades are showing that their ability to distribute the ball is winning them games. With 11 assists so far this season, UFV is sixth in Canada West for that category.

Spartans: On Sunday the Heat will play the Trinity Western University, first in the West Division and third in the country the Spartans are coming off of two ties. The Spartan's head to Kelowna to play the Heat on Sunday (Sept .25) on Nonis Sports Field at 1 p.m. PT.
Current Form: The Spartans are coming off of a (0-0) tie against the University of Victoria and a tie (1-1) against the University of British Columbia.
Key Players: Defender, Jenaya Robertson is proving that she is a threat at both ends of the field. With two goals so far this season, Robertson is making her mark on the field and proving that with only two years of experience she is can play any position. Third year Danae Derksen is also showing promise this season as she has two goals within the past five games. Ally Williamson (Goalkeeper / 5th / Langley, B.C.) The fifth-year Williamson and two-time CIS All-Canadian is arguably the best goalkeeper in the country and will once again solidify the Spartans defensive group. The local product started all 21 of the Spartans regular season and playoff games last year and earned 13 clean sheets as she helped guide TWU to Canada West and CIS silver medals. This year, Williamson didn't allow a single goal in the three preseason games she played, including a shutout against the University of Washington Huskies.
Team Stat: The Spartans are a strong presence on the field and are holding a candid spot in the overall standings in the CIS. With only eight goals scored this fast paced team is averaging 9.6 shots per game.
