PREVIEW: Women's volleyball lock horns in 1st-place showdown

What you need to know

  • The Heat women's volleyball team will play their final matches of the 2017 part of this season's schedule in Calgary. The two matches against the Dinos are scheduled for Thursday, November 30 at 5 p.m. PST and on Friday, December 1 at 4 p.m. PST.
  • Heading into the weekend against Calgary, the Heat are riding a five-match winning streak that dates back to November 4, including wins against Mount Royal, MacEwan, and Regina. They have continued to climb in the U Sports Top 10, and the Heat now sit at #3, up one spot from last week's rankings.
  • If the Heat are able to take both matches from the Dinos, then Calgary would be knocked out of first place in the Canada West standings, where they currently sit tied with UBC and UBC Okanagan, with all teams owning records of 8-2.

  • A pair of wins would also maintain the Heat's unbeaten road record this season, giving them a perfect record as the Away team through the 2017 half of this season's schedule.
