RECAP: UBC Okanagan women finish home tournament in second

Kelowna, BC - The UBC Okanagan women's golf team trailed the Fraser Valley Cascades by nine strokes after day one at the Okanagan Golf Club's Bear course but the hot hitting Cascades extended their lead even with UBC Okanagan shooting 15-strokes better on the Sunday. 

The opening PACWEST tournament ended with the Heat women's team finished second out of three teams with a two day total of 347. Second year Management student Mckenna Lesuik led the way for the Heat with rounds of 86 and 85 while fourth year Human Kinetics student Emily Adams fired rounds of 95 and 81 for a two day total of 176. The University of the Fraser Valley Cascades women's squad won the women's division with a team score of 319 for two days. The individual women's title went to UFV's Emery Bardock who finished with a score of 155 (+11).

What's next: Adams and Lesiuk will look for the a tournament win at the second tournament of the PACWEST season, the two-day 36-hole event goes next weekend in Parksville, BC on September 23rd and 24th at Morningstar Golf Club.
