This week for the Heat: With their first road trip to the prairies finished, the Heat men's basketball team will now return home to play Mount Royal University  this weekend. The two squads will begin their doubleheader on Friday (Nov. 18) with a game that will begin at 8 p.m. The second game between the two teams will be played Saturday (Nov. 19) with a start time of 7 p.m. Both the games will take place at the UBC Okanagan gymnasium in Kelowna.

Current Form: The Heat had a tough doubleheader in Brandon this past weekend as they were unable to claim a win against the Bobcats. With a Friday night (82-69) loss and a Saturday (67-54) loss the Kelowna squad now stand at a record of (1-3) and return home for a doubleheader against Mount Royal.

Key Players:  Third year Aldrich Berrios is continuing to be a vital asset on the floor for UBCO offensivly as he claimed 39 points in the doubleheader against the Bobcats. As the leading scorer for the Heat, Berrios has shot (14-31) from beyond the arc this season, making him second in USports for that category. Third year David Manshreck is also stepping up for the Heat. With 19 points in the series against Brandon, Manshreck is a quick offensive mismatch that isn't afraid to battle for the ball down low or score from outside.

Team Stat: With four games under their belt, the Heat are shooting 38.8 percent from the field. As the competition continues to grow within the Canada West, the Heat are going to have to improve their outside shooting if they want to continue to win games.

Overall Head to Head vs Mount Royal:  (4-8) The Cougars have a lead over the Heat in their overall head to head. Last time out the Cougars swept UBCO in Calgary (Jan. 2016).

Current Form: The Cougars are coming off of a (93-72) home court win and then a (83-60) road loss both games were against the University of Lethbridge. Glen Yang went (6-8) from three and Penticton product Derek Wolf (4-9) in the Cougars' Friday night win.

Key Players: Senior, Derek Wolf is leading the Cougars in scoring so far this season. With a total in 38 points in last weekends series against Lethbridge, Wolf was able to shoot (6-6) from the free throw line. Following Wolf is Glen Yang. Yang scoring 32 of his 34 points in the Friday night game against Lethbridge was able to shoot an impressive (13-19) 68 percent from the field. With his ability to quickly get shots up, the Heat will have to revise their defence in order to stop the Cougars from scoring.
