Canada West announced their 2019-20 championship sport locations and dates on Wednesday, as the conference and UBC Okanagan concluded its June schedule releases.
Headlining the news for UBCO was the announcement that October 4-6 will be the dates for the of the inaugural CW Golf Championships.
UBCO will serve as host for the event, and the first-ever conference golf banner will be handed out after the final round of the championships held at the Okanagan Golf Club's Bear Course in Kelowna, B.C. Details of the championship were previously announced in February.
For the Heat's other championship sport, cross country, the UBCO squad will be off to Alberta. The University of Calgary will host the 2019 Canada West Cross Country Championships, slated for Saturday, October 26 at Canmore Park in northwest Calgary.
It will mark the conference's first standalone cross country championship since the 1990s, as the CW champions have been determined by results at the U SPORTS national meet for more than two decades.
Both the Heat men's and women's cross country teams will look to qualify enough runners in Calgary to send teams in both genders to the U SPORTS championship.
Queen's University in Kingston, Ont. will once again host the national championship with the race on Saturday, November 9.
UBCO, competing at the U SPORTS level for the first time last fall in cross country, sent four runners to the championship in Kingston, Ont.
